When we installed our new SharePoint farm, we also installed the SharePoint Administration Toolkit. This kit installed a feature called BatchSiteManagerLinks. Since we installed this only on the server with central admin, it seemed that the feaure folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\BatchSiteManagerLinks" got created only on the server with central admin but not on the other servers.
Becuase of this, we got an error on the sites on clicking the workflow link from the Site Settings page.
Failed to find the XML file at location '12\Template\Features\BatchSiteManagerLinks\feature.xml'
Solution 1
To resolve this we copied the feature folder on all the servers and everything started working again.
Solution 2
Install the SharePoint Admin Toolkit on the rest of the servers. Even though, the toolkit installed successfully, it gave an error "Failed to register Batch Site Manager". But the issue is resolved anyways. |
